What is Sister Soldier?

Sister Soldier – Stand Up For Each Other is a non-for-profit organization that brings healing and awareness to the harmful effects of relational aggression and girl bullying. Based on a school assembly and empowerment program that is geared directly toward young middle and high school girls, Sister Soldier’s mission is to alleviate the pain caused by the often mean and hurtful ways that girls treat one another and treat themselves. Our goal is to empower girls with kindness, acceptance and self-confidence, ultimately changing the way they view themselves and view each other.

The Cause

According to Confidence Coalition, “a girl is bullied every seven minutes.” This is an issue that is becoming increasingly more aggressive and hurtful, taking a toll on young girls’ self-esteem and self-image. The malicious ways that girls treat each other cause such a difficult school experience, so much so, that many girls don’t even want to go to school.  The secret language of girls (silent treatment, exclusion, gossip…the list goes on) and how they relate to one another DOES have long-standing consequences on who these young girls become and what kind of relationships they develop. Change needs to be made now and that is what the Sister Soldier organization sets out to combat.

“160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying.”
